This is achieved through providing practical advice, support, tools and education that helps to deliver sustainable quality and safety outcomes for consumers.
Many health care organisations across Australia have used our services for preparation with accreditation. These organisations range from employing over 8000 staff to smaller day procedure units employing less than 20 staff.
Sandy Thomson established GovernancePlus in 2006. She provides governance and quality and risk management support for a range of organisations in the acute, community, primary care, aged care and dental services. Key achievements have been attaining a Masters in Health Service Management, the development of a Masters in Health Management Quality and Leadership Murdoch University, a Masters in Clinical Governance Edith Cowan University and being awarded the 2017 Western Australian Gold Award for Business Excellence in the Micro Business category. This builds on achieving the 2015 Western Australia and Australian Gold Foundation Award for Entrepreneurial/ Start-Up Management Excellence. Sandy is also a Fellow of Australasian Association for Quality in Health Care, the Governance Institute of Australia, and the Australian Organisation for Quality.
Sandy has also presented nationally and internationally at key industry conferences on outcomes achieved from her business. In addition a key personal objective is sharing her skills and knowledge gained over many years with organisations and staff using a train the trainer approach.
Support programs now include community service providers including NDIS providers and general practice.
